The last two years I ran the NYC 1/2 marathon I quit running afterwards. Don't know exactly why, but mostly a low after a big high. This year I am promising myself I will push through and continue running. So far so good.. I ran 4 miles easily this morning. Following the WW program is another story. I find it really difficult to keep to the program while in training for a big race. I am trying, though, to count my points, even if I go over my allotted 27. The truth is I would really like to weigh less to run a full marathon in the fall, but like I said, it is hard to lose weight when running distances.. Everyone thinks .. Oh you run so far, you must be losing weight, but I'm not. I need to concentrate on eating leaner foods and smaller portions.

Lush Runs a Half Marathon


My Race Report would have been and should have been better but I did something really really stupid the day before the race.. Some of you will probobly roll your eyes in disbelief... here goes the Truth.. I drank. Yup.. with lunch and dinner.. what a dufus.. my love of wine got the best of me.. so needless to say my run was a disaster.. I ran.. dont get me wrong.. and i averaged an 11:30 pace (which isnt bad for me) but I felt like poop the whole way..)


The race itself was as exciting as usual.. people cheering practically the whole way, bands playing along the route, cowbells ringing. The final6 or 7 miles is tough cause its on the West Side highway which is cement.. my feet hurt afterwards.. I could not wait to finish. that was the toughest run of my life. What a dufus!!! I learned my lesson!!

Last Run Before Race...

I'm gearing up for my 3rd NYC Half Marathon this Sunday.  I ran 4 miles this morning and I don't plan on running again until Sunday.  I plan to eat some carbs today and tomorrow and then really go to town with a bowl of pasta on Saturday night.  Honestly, I will watch what I eat in NYC, and I will track, but most likely I will go over my points into activity points.

I still can't fit into the jeans I want to get into, but hopefully soon I will.

Tuesday, Tuesday

Really today Im blogging just for the blog of it. I tried on size 10 jeans this morning and they did button but my fat was still hanging over the top and they were uncomfortable so I took them off and wore leggings instead.  Getting up for this morning's run was not easy. I only was able to get 5 hours of sleep because I worked late last night (restaurant job).  But I met the girls at 5:45 for a 6 miler and of course felt fantastic afterwards. That's the kicker.. no pain no gain.

Anyway I'm super excited to be going to NYC this weekend for the Half Marathon on Sunday.  Taking the train in Saturday morning and will try not to walk around too much during the course of the day..  Looking forward to dinner at Aureole on Sunday night. 10 Miles and Feelin. Happy!!!

What a great morning!!! Crisp and a little windy at first but an easy 10 miles.. no aches, no pains, not too tired, just plugged along... dislike the hill on Baltimore Avenue near Patterson Park, it gets the best of me everytime but  I trudged up it somehow and it was downhill from there..

Ive already had too big a breakfast for WW standards, but for GOD'S sake... I ran 10 miles.. Im hungry!!! And I can tell you this will be an eating day... We are going to Samos (Greek ) for lunch and I plan to eat some food yes I do.  Then when dinner rolls around its all about the steaks baby... and WINE!! It's my night off from the restaurant and I want to relax and do what I want.  See why I don't lose weight?

Feeling FAT, FATTY, and FATTER

just weighed in at WW. Gained 4/10th of a pound again this week. I eat too much. That's my problem. My portions are way too big and I must not be accurately counting my points in proportion to size.  I feel poopy now. But either way Im gearing up for my 10 miler tomorrow am.  I hate to run on an empty stomach but Im scared to eat right before.. maybe Ill just have a gu pack.

All these women losing 2 pounds, 1 pound, 3 pounds, and I, who runs about 20 miles a week... gain 4/10th. 
Not happy.

I might as well write... no one reads it anyway.

Food Blog... not too bad of a day on WW.. cereal for breakfast. ok fine.. lunch.. at least I split my kabobs with Fran but I still ate rice , pita bread and some oily spinach.  Dinner.. not terrible but still more points than allowed.. i ate half the chicken  sandwich with bacon and cheese. and i had FFs. o well.. no food to speak of when i got home from work.. just a cheese stick oh and two small glasses of wine.. well deserved though, i think.. after getting up at 5 am, running 4 miles. at desk by 8 am till 3 pm doing computer work.. waitressing from 4 till 9.. a couple glasses of wine so what.

just reread a post I had written from March 2010.. apparently i used to have a big poop problem.  but i dont anymore. knock on wood.. i usually have no problem going in the am before I run so i dont have to stop during my run. thats a pain in the ass.. no pun intended.

so other than that.. no comedy here tonight.. just a replay of my day. talk to you later .. probobly saturday after my long run.. planning on 10. just sayin.

I'm Back... better later than never!!

I know I am writing this for myself.. because who could possibly be reading this???  Two years later and Im still right where I was, training for a half marathon and complaining about my weight.  AND  I am 10 pounds heavier than I was two years ago!! Anyhoo... today is the 7th of March and I am about to run my THIRD NYC HALF MARATHON on March 18th.  Love that race.  But.. I mentioned two years ago that I was training for the Baltimore Marathon.. but I never did... BUT I am registered this year for the NYC Marathon Lottery.. if I get in I will definitely run that.. If I don't get in I will register for the Baltimore Marathon.

As far as catching up for the past two years.. I did something stupid two years in a row.. I gave up running for the summer both of the past two years. This year I vow not to do that.  I will keep signing up for races and I will be training for a marathon in the fall so I will have to keep running.

Im back on WW, following it pretty well.. I tend to earn a lot of activity points which I have been using as my extra points.. bad idea.. I have only lost 2.5 pounds in 3 weeks.. what a dufus.. and what did I have for lunch today? A KNISH.

I deserve to be fat.
